Đorđe Stanetti was born in Zagreb in 1961, graduated in piano in Vienna in 1983 (Bruno Seidlhofer) as a scholarship holder of the Austrian Ministry and trained for 4 more years at the Vienna Conservatory (Leonid Brumberg).

At the age of sixteen he made his debut with the Zagreb and Belgrade Philharmonic and since then he has been present on concert stages nurturing the repertoire of all stylistic periods, performing equally as a soloist and as a chamber musician.

He has performed in almost all major cities of Croatia, as well as in almost all major music centers of the former Yugoslav republics and in Italy, Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Argentina, Switzerland, Romania and Denmark. He has performed at many festivals (Dubrovnik Summer Games, Music Biennale Zagreb, Ivo Pogorelic Festival in Bad Woerishofen, Ohrid Summer, Bemus, Maribor Music September, Budva Grad Theatre, etc.), played with all the leading orchestras in the region (Zagreb Philharmonic, Zagreb Soloists, Slovenian Philharmonic), Belgrade Philharmonic), with conductors including P. Dešpalj, U. Lajovic, K. Ono, L. Pfaff, W. Chavdarsky, S. Nude, I. Gjadrov, N. Bareza, W. Kranjčević, M. Letonja, Mladen Tarbuk, Tonči Bilić and others, and as a chamber musician he collaborated with many prominent domestic and foreign artists (Radovan Vlatković, Aleksandar Ivić, Dragan Sremec, Branko Mihanović, Pavle Zajcev. Renata Pokupi, Dubravka Šeparović and others), among which the most notable was the collaboration with the celebrated Croatian singer Dunja Vejzović.

In 2002 he was the winner of the annual Milko Trnin Award from the Croatian Society of Musical Artists for the performance of Papandopula's concert for piano and orchestra with Zagreb soloists, in 2012 he was the winner of the annual award of the Croatian Society of Music and Dance Pedagogues, and in 2016 he received the HDGU Golden Bell award for the integral performance of Beethoven's piano sonatas with his former to students.

He is a full professor of piano at the Academy of Music in Zagreb.
